Interactive tutorial, animations, sound and music, and QoL updates.
There are two major changes : animations, and interactive tutorial.
The first major change is that I added animations. Now the player can see the heroes go through the dungeon and kill monsters. Previously, the heroes just stood still and then teleported from one room to another. Now, it's easier to follow the heroes as they move through the dungeon.
I also made the tutorial interactive. A lot of players were confused by the interface and didn't really understand the game after playing through the tutorial. By making it interactive, it guides the player step-by-step through how to do it. Features in the game are introduced one at a time, and the next feature is only introduced after the player has already demonstrated that they understand the previous feature. Thus, it will be easier to learn how to play the game.
Some minor changes are:
- Added music and sound.
- Moved some buttons around so the screen is less cluttered.
- Added a particle effect when a monster died.
- Made everything smaller, so more stuff can fit on the screen.
- Added a laser when one hero dropped an item that killed a monster elsewhere on the map, so the player can see what's happening instead of a monster appearing to randomly die.
- Removed the "step" and "pause" buttons, since it wasn't clear to the user what they did, and usually when the player clicked them, nothing happened (they were used when running a solution, to make the heroes go one step at time, or pause their movements).
- Made scrolling faster.
- Added search functionality for the inventory, so it's easier to find a certain item.
- Added a way (press Q) to warp to where a monster's weaknessis located, so you don't have to search
